Sunil Timber Company was founded in 1985 by Mr. Fateh Chand Gouniyal who, with more than a 40 years long period of unbroken experience after having been in the timber business since 1965, had acquired a lot of professional and technical expertise within the timber business. During the 60’es the company primarily was focusing its business ventures on servicing the huge and demanding domestic Indian markets.

Back then the government of India would lease its forests to private owners and so it became very attractive for the company to keep focusing on sourcing the best possible timber at the best competitive prices. The company – situated in the Chattisgarh region known for its rich and plentiful endowment of natural resources such as timber, iron, bauxite, lime, diamonds, coal, etc – expanded beyond belief.

Through the application of skilled and watchful management the company steadily grew year by year and widened its market shares as well as moving into the business of supplying various timber sizes and railway sleepers to a broad variety of Indian semi-governmental entities. Having consolidated such rich and successful expansion the company then took the bold move of further diversifying its activities and today is a major player importing timber through the ports of Kandla and Mundra.

At present Sunil Timber Company serves the Indian domestic markets through imports of Malaysian sal and New Zealand pine as well as importing and exporting a broad variety of attractive timber species such as Pine, Spruce, , Beech, Alder, Birch, Maple from various European countries. While quality FSC Grade Teak from Ghana, Benin,Togo, Costa Rica & Columbia. The company has its direct purchase from the various Local forest through govt & private authorities in to a host of nations in both Europe and Africa.

We at the same time are also into supply of various sawn timber sizes. Made out of imported and domestic timber. We not only manufacture timber for extended verities of lumber used in Construction. But also have our own factories in Raipur (Chhattisgarh) were we processes technical oriented designed lumber used in specific projects in Shipyard, Railways, Cooling Towers etc. Our technical expertise are very sure of the product that our clients have in their mind and this is something that is earned,in many many years time.
